Odds and Ends

They make installing the wood floors look easy......

What a rainbow!!!!

More on the countertop

They use these weird tools to push the two halves together with glue in the seam.....Clear as mud, right?

Precision countertop, father and son, are installing the tops.

Remember my light fixture? I was sooooo happy to see it again. It was very interesting to see how they do the HUGE countertop. They matched the top perfectly and you can hardly see the seam.

Joe and Kurt were installing the dryer. It takes a village.......to build a house.......It takes Joe leading the crowd!

Todd is framing for the tile to the "doggie wash" and "grandkids sandy feet".....Saw it in a magazine and it will look awesome.

Washer and dryer......only ONE more trip to the laundramat. YEAH......
The things we take for granted.

Levi liked playing with the art teacher Barbie as much as McKenzie.

I was helping Kylie with the computer, and I think this is the first picture of me on the blog!

BIRTHDAY

Kenzie and I are Pisces.....We celebrated our special days on Sunday.

Kylie made us cupcakes.....yummy

My APPLIANCES.......One step closer to the kitchen.......

This is the crew that puts down the wood floor. It is called "country casual maple" and we LOVE it.....
In need of some floor rugs!

This is the start of the deck on the back side of the house. Mud, mud and more mud.........

Joe found a door that matches our garage doors and ordered it for the pump house. Now all we need is siding.

DECK....In progress

The painters will put a coat of sealer to the front of the steps that will make it so that they don't turn gray. We have enough gray days.

Todd is finishing up the deck and railing. He is our go-to guy. He does all the "extras". Loves to earn extra $$$

DO IT YOURSELF

This is really a do-it-yourself project. You have to pick up the pre-cut pieces, that weren't even in a box, and put it together yourself.

This is how it looked while stacked on the dolly.

LATEST ARRIVALS

This is the maple flooring that is going in the entire kitchen-mud-and family room. It has a "country" finish...We love it.

These are the doors. Scott, the "finisher" is here today hanging the doors while waiting for the wood to get to the right humidity level.

More Cleanup

Jake is from Orca builders, and thank goodness he is here to clean up the trash........

THE ISLAND.....

The carpenters are deciding how best to do the entertainment center. Took house.......

This is the island.....You can never have too much space!

And More Cabinets

The beginning of the master bath.

This is the back of the kitchen that faces the neighbor. The Bar-B-que
will be out that door on the deck.

MARMOLEUM

OK....I know its YELLOW....but it will all blend. And you know, your laundry room is supposed to be cheery.

This was my marmoleum installer. The wall doesn't look quite as bright in this picture. But, believe me......its pretty bright

More Cabinets.....

This is where the double oven will go. Baking center.....and pantry.

This one faces the ocean and the missing spot is for the dishwasher.

CABINETS ...Are Being Installed

TEXTURE

Its hard to see the difference in the texture...First, who knew there was so much to choose from? Certainly, not me. The walls are called medium orange peel, and the ceiling is brocaide, which looks kinda lacy.

Little Pump House

Todd has built the little house almost singlehandedly. Kurt helped some, as did Joe......but Todd did most of it on Saturday and Sunday.

CRABBING

This was a fishing boat that was riding in the tide pulling up their crab pots.

You would think dungeneous crab would be cheaper here, so fresh, but it is not. The best price is $5.99 a pound...and its a lotta shell. But it is delicious....

Texture

These are the textures that we chose for the house. The ceiling is called brocade and the walls are called orange peel, medium. I know it is hard to see.
I have no idea why the textis different colors and why it is underlined.

The walls and ceiling are primed

Hard to see, but the house has been primed. It is white, white, white. Faja has drywall mud in her paws!

The master bedroom......we only had one argument during the building of this house. It was the placement of the bed. Kurt could not understand why I could not "Get it" when there were only studs on the wall. Now we have to cover up part of that hole with the bed.

This is the start of the stairs from the garage to the tiny mudroom.

This is the start of our new "pump house". Faja thought it was her new house!

CABINETS....

This 30' trailer had a hard time getting up the driveway. He made Kurt look like a professional driver when he backed up the RV and it only took ONE time!

This pic is only 1/2 of the workshop that is filled with cabinets. This silly program won't let me upload 3 pics.
