Introducing......FREDDIE THE FROG

Ok....I have been trying for two days to upload the video of Levi's lead part in the school play..........

But, it is not working and it is making me crazy.

He was WONDERFUL. He belted out his lines, he rocked the house, and he got the most applause and cheers from his peers...........

Can you say Oscars?

California Smoke

Not sure if its true, but it sure looked like smoke hovering over the horizon.

One sunset is better than the next.

The Perfect Model

This is the first clothing item I have every made! Made it in a serger class yesterday..........

AND_______Its reversible!

Pumpkins on one side and christmasy stars on the other.......Call if you want one.

The Big Bone

After being away sooooooo long today, we bought Faja a new tug toy........She loves it!

Farmers Market

Went to a serger class today, and we stopped at the Corvallis farmers market.......

What wonderful produce, cheese, etc.
Its open through November........

Owwwwwww.............

Kathleen is checking out the healing process. Unfortunately, the pins have to stay in for two more weeks. He is on a potent antibiotic, because it is easy to get an infection with these foreign objects in his fingers.

Here, she measures how good he is doing at moving the sore fingers. When I look at his hand, I feel the worse for the Pinky.......It looks so sad!

Week 6

Look how much better his hand looks!

Incredibly DRY.....we got the nod to put lotion on.................

Practice Makes Perfect

He's working really hard with his typing skills. Improving every day. Its good physical therapy to get those fingers working again

Ace........

She has really come a long way in the sport of Volleyball. Her serves are terrific.

I really felt sorry for her. Here she HATES having her picture, and two of her grandmothers are in the stands with cameras aiming their cameras at her looking for that "perfect shot".........Its cause we love you Kylie........

Great follow through!

Kylie & the Dragons

Finally, got a picture of Kylie and her friends from the team. She HATES people taking pictures of her.

Poor Nose

MacKenzie took a spill with her other grandmother. She told her grandpa, "I hurt my nose. You know, the one attached to my face!"

How cute is that?

Shrubs...................

We put in shrubs along the workshop and garage walkway. Since the rainy weather is coming, the plants will get a good healthy start. This is the time of the year to plant.

There are stickers on the back shrubs to keep small animals out! They did not stop the neighbor dog from coming over and dumping on our new plant.

We tried to get mad, but the dog has had the entire lot to himself for years. Faja and Bob do get along, however.

Split Rail Fence

Blakes Nursery is doing the work! They young guys are using an auger to make fast work of the fence post holes. The older guy owns the nursery.

The majority of our plants have come from them....well trusted an have been in business for a long time.
We thought it would take away from the view. It doesn't. It actually finishes off the yard.
We are hoping that our newest granddaughter will come and visit us. We didn't want to worry about her toddling off the mountain.

Okay Paige.......it is safe for you now!

Sunset

I could fill this blog up with sunsets..........Every now and then, I like to throw one in so you will yearn to get back to the coast!

Week 5

We got to take a breather from running to Corvallis this week. We took out most of the stitches ourselves. Kurt used a tweezers and I cut them with my curved, sharp embroidery scissors.

I cannot tell you how well he is healing. His doc is going to be soooooo happy. He is down to just a couple of pain pills a day.

We are hoping the pins come out next week. Then he will be over the last painful hurtle. (Cross you fingers that a graft will not be necessary),

Storms are Coming

Dozens and dozens of pelicans have been soaring past the house. It seems that the wildlife knows when a bad storm is heading this way........and they are jetting south.

Almost every semi-cloudy day produces a rainbow. They are so beautiful.

The storm hit on Thursday with 45mph winds and gusting to 75mph. I don't know if Faja and I will ever get used to these winds.

Road to Gehlkens

It is our responsibility to take care of the road to our house. So I spoke to the neighbor (the one selling the house) and asked if she would split the cost of taking out the trees on both sides of the road.

Thanks goodness she agreed and digger Joe came over and did the work. Our friends are grateful, because the tree limbs and leaves were smacking our cars!

Rhododendrums

There is nothing prettier than Rhodies. The one will only grow about three feet and will look great in the barrel.

This one will grow to be about 10 feet and will have red blossoms.

This one will grow staight and tall and will provide shade for things I can plant underneath it.......in a few years, of course.

Escalonia

These shrubs are going to grow so fast! They will make a hedge between us and the neighbor.

These will help shield our view from their driveway..........We still need to do some clean-up. Have to wait until Kurt has TWO good hands

Air-------------- Please

Six months later, and Joe is finally installing the window in the door on the right. Finally, I can get some air into the bedroom.

Kurt is doing the final inspection.

At least the door can open without falling off the hinges

Kite Festival

There is always something happening in Oregon.

We went to Lincoln City this week end. They have a kite festival twice a year. We weren't too impressed with these contestants.....................

But, this group was fabulous. You can see the five people on the far away sand. They flew their kites in unison to music. They could land them in the water, make them just stand there, and then skim across the water. It was amazing.

Fall is here

This is the clinic that we come to each week.

We have watched the leaves change. They are maple trees, and they are absolutely beautiful. Reminds us of our trip back east.

Week 4

First, he has to soak the fingers so that the stitches are pliable.

Then Kathleen attempts to take them out. She did some of them, and some she only cut the knot out. He will soak at home, and remove them himself.

I know it still looks yucky to you, but honestly it is soooooooo much better.
He moves his fingers towards the palm of his hand......Well two of them anyway. The ring finger is still hurting, but there is much improvement.

Going My Way???????

The geese are flying south for the winter. They are always in their formations. There are oodles of pelicans too, but they fly so close to the water, I cannot get a good shot.......yet!

Faja......

Can you believe she got that whole plastic baggie filled with a noise maker and stuffing, out of the tail of her ducky??????????

I performed surgery and put it all back together.......

Her number one thing to do is play friseee.......Caught an action shot!

Passing The Time

This is how sisters spend their time at their brothers soccer game......

Still so hard for us to believe Kylie is 13. Its like she grew up over night.
She is so TALL, and grown up. She is a wonderful older sister.

Half Time

Levi is playing on an all boys and there is fast paced action. His team won!

Getting ready to throw the ball in....
