Look Carter.....................

Your name is all over this hot rod.

Grandpa and I think you should have your daddy buy this for you to ride around the hills at our house!

See>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You are FAMOUS.......

FAJA'S FIVE years old.............

Can't believe that Faj is five years old. She likes to unwrap her own presents. This is a squeaky hammer. Actually, its her second hammer. She loves her tools!

Again....New Doors..........

Now we are getting sliding glass doors. What a huge mistake we made by not getting these to start with. Kurt was never happy with the french doors, and they were NEVER hung right. You had to put your shoulder into the door and push.........just to open it.

I was never happy, cause it was too HOT!

So Joe came over on Saturday and helped Kurt install the doors.

Now, there is wonderful airflow, more light in the room, and the door opens without a body slam.

Will take a picture of the final product when the interior and exterior trims are finished.

Yeah!!!!!

Not only do they love to swing......

What a face!!!!!

A whole new area to explore was found. Faja kept a closed eye on Levi.

Finally a Swing.............Yipeeeeeee

I have wanted a swing in one of our trees since we lived on Callahan. All there was there were pine trees. When we moved to Oregon, I couldn't wait to throw that rope over a limb and have those kids swing. So......no good trees for a rope swing. Grandpa to the rescue. He nailed a huge piece of wood between the trees. Levi and Grandpa found this perfect driftwood swing on Faja's beach............

Hanging out in a log......

The newest Shield.....

What a cutie-pie!!! Every puppy and baby are simply irresistible. Kearby and Milo are the best of friends.

Milo is just 8 weeks old and loves to dig in the sand. Everyone is hoping that Milo and Faja will be best friends.

From Otter Rock....

The view from here takes your breath away. Having a wonderful camera doesn't hurt either...:)

These houses are in a great location, but the erosion would scare me.
I like being on the East side of the highway. Safer

Our house is just past that rock you see in the ocean. We can get a good view of "gull rock" from our deck. Notice that there is nothing but forest behind our house. We surely hope it stays that way.

Nothin' But Air........

Faja's favorite thing to do.....play frisbee. Jeff captured these "air" shots of her at Rocky Creek State Park.

Various Pictures....

Jeff took these while riding in the back seat of the Lex......They are painted on the sides of buildings.

Great pictures of a whale!

Men Overboard......

Sightseeing in Newport.....

The sign says it all. Jeff and Janice Mittelman came over from Granite Falls, Washington to hang out with us for a few days. The great pictures are from him camera.

This is the Yaquina Bay lighthouse.

Quilt for the Newest Grandbaby....

I just fell in love with this baby quilt, but Kurt wants me to make another one that is more "boyish". Of course, I agreed....

Garden Update.....

6=-

The crops are coming along nicely. The front is onions and garlic...and the tiny row on the right is carrots.....

The tallest shoot is broccoli. When it grown bigger, I will take a close-up.
The cabbage rows are in a backwards "L"......Clear as mud?????

Kurt's Projects................

Kurt made the recycling center from leftover "stuff" he had just laying around.

The same for the kindling holder. We roast s'mores in the summertime when the kids are here.

Kylie's Big Day......

A job well done.......CONGRATULATIONS to our Kylie. Moving on from juvenile middle school to Prime Time High School. Our girl did it!!!!

A prouder pair of parents couldn't be happier, gray hair and all.

Stacie doesn't even look old enough to have a daughter going into high school!

These girls sure know how to pose!

Say "cheese", please

........KYLIE SHIELDS...........

Big day here, and the first day she didn't mind having her picture taken.

An official paper in hand, and they still made them go to school for two days! Whats up with that?????

Can you say "Angel"

So comfy on Grandpa's lap...

Something about a child sleeping that brings huge smiles to our faces.

But, she did indeed get a second wind.

Can you say "Angel"

She Smiles

Mackenzie had stuck her finger with a rose thorn....Ouch.....Levi got the job of the official flower holder while mom was in charge of media.

Faja and Fifi.......

Finally a little socialization for Faja. Janae and TJ stopped by to show us her new car, and the dogs got along great.

A day with sunshine. This has been unusual this spring.

\\\

Mean looking ocean.......

Farmers Market - 08

This is the new location of the Farmers Market. We stopped by on Saturday and there was tons of room for my little booth.

We were frustrated, but haven't stopped trying......

Yummo.......

Grandpa is reading the paper, and Kenzie is reading the back of the cereal box. How cute are they??????? The Shield kids devour a box of chocolate cereal a day while at Grammy and Grandpa's house.

A beautiful day.........

Nobody around at our private beach.

The day was perfect. Levi and grandpa found many treasures.
McKenzie and dad were burying a rock, and Kylie made an enormous sand sculpture.

Memorial Day at the Beach

As usual, we all had a great time at Faja's beach.

Aren't they soooooo cute together? A match made in heaven, thats for sure.

Celebrating.........

Levi at the Plate

Eddie Eagle

Jeff and Janice Mittelman came to visit us this week. We had a wonderful time.

Jeff had an incredible camera and took some great pictures of our visitor.

Can I just tell you that this eagle was amazing. Its a young bald eagle. We learned that their heads do not get white until they are three years old.

Isn't he majestic looking! While we
ran inside to get the "bird book" he flew away...
