Yumm-o

I forgot to add this picture. We were in Oklahoma with Bob and Jenna. After the evening ceremony, we celebrated in this small diner. After Jenna ate her entire hamburger, she singlehandedly ate this sundae. She has a definite sweet tooth, and weights 100 pounds soaking wet! She had a drawer full of snack in the hotel room. (Do you detect a note of jealousy here???)

Landscaping Updates

I missed the rhodies. They were bright red, but the leaves had some sort of disease.........

Kurt can't plant enough of these "wooddrifts". They are his new favorite plants.

Some of the plants here are veggies. Tomatoes need full sun, and so does parsley and cucumbers. Will update when there is fruit on the vines!

My tulips are gone...:-( They only lasted one week, and one awful windy day the petals were gone.

Kurt built the new "oblique" that we copied from the Hansen gardens. There are four clematis growing on the sides. Between that and the garden, he arranged another area for plants.

We just can't seem to stop ourselves. So much will grow here.

I am starting to have shady plants. The front porch gets morning sun and shade in the afternoon.

Kurt also built the bench for me.

Seal Rock Beach

This was low tide at seal rock beach. When the tide is in, those rocks disappear.

At the end of June, there is supposed to be a huge minus tide.

Can't you just see Faja smiling?????

Happiest dog on the planet!

What a View!

Kurt and I had a great day today. We started with a garage sale in Otter Crest, then on to Newport, and Yachats. Stopped at seal rock beach and let Faja run around. Then we went to Toledo to a sale and this was the view from their back yard. It was gorgeous!

I bought a homopathic pillow rest for $5.00. It was brand new! What a score.

Ocean looks like glass.....

This jet skier was pulling a skier, but we think he dropped them off at Beverly Beach. The ocean was smooth as glass today!

Graduation Day!

Bobby has graduated with his Masters Degree in Public Administration. He finished a two year course in 16 months, and earned a perfect 4.0..........He attended classes on-line, at Nellis Air Force Base (where the University sends their professors to teach class) and he experienced campus life while taking a class at Oklahoma University.....even got to attend a football game!

A job well done Bob........We are really proud of you!

The Walk.......(A little shakey)

THE BIG DAY.......

The Basketball arena was very comfy. I will look at OU differently now. I may even root for them for college sports. Especially because they are my favorite colors, crimson and white.

Again, the ceremony was special and he speakers were short and to the point. Whew.....Thank Goodness

These Graduates were from the college of Arts and Sciences.

Fireworks...............Just Like You Were There

Evening Ceremony......

I thoroughly enjoyed the speakers. The President of OU did a wonderful job.

I was totally impressed with the stage, although I don't know what it was made out of. The flowers were just beautiful, here and throughout the entire University.

The graduates walked out of all the entrances of the football stadium and walked across the field and took their seats.

See Bob????? He is the one with the turquoise and crimson hood around his neck.

The pipers did a great job!

Evening Ceremony......

Pre-festivities. Kurt and I went and stood in line to get good seats for the program, while Jenna stood in the wind and got great pictures of Bob.

This was on a huge wide-screen that I had to watch go round and round to get the picture up close......

There was food here too, but I didn't get a picture. Just plain old cheese, fruit, and meat trays. They also had a picture of the cake, but I didn't get that either (but Jenna DID)....its on their blog.

1st Reception................

These were taken at the first reception on Friday. Jenna took pictures of the Dean who was the speaker. I, of course, took pictures of the food.

What a wonderful idea this was! They had a mashed white and sweet potato bar. You put the taters in martini glasses, and they had all the trimmings. We ate at Jason's Deli, so we didn't partake in this meal. There was a chef carving a ham too.

These were the desserts. We did have some of those.

Mr. and Mrs. Horton arriving. They dropped me off everywhere cause I have crappy feet.

Jason's Deli

What a treat! Lunch time.......

Gehlken's Crop..........

First onion of the 2009 season. It really makes you feel good to eat something you have grown yourself. Hope I have a great carrot crop.....They are my favorite. We also planted, beans, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes and lettuces. I want to get a cucumber starter also.

Bay View.................

You have heard us say it a million times......Everyday seems like a vacation in Newport!

This was the first time we went for lunch to this little place on the bay.
Wonderful food.

The weather was wonderful, and the view is always awesome.

Its days like these that make ALL that rainfall worthwhile.....

Farmers Market.........

Doesn't the booth look good! We were so proud. We did move the table to the other side. It was sooooo windy that we had to remove the top of the booth!

B U T.......We sold 6 bags......Yeah....

I got this great chair for Mother's Day. Kurt and I share it!
