Surprise, surprise SURPRISE......

Bob has done it again! He is the master of surprises. For Kurt and Marc's birthdays, he has planned a "Man's Weekend". He is flying them both to Phoenix.

Here they were opening up their invitations, with their confirmation numbers for their flights.

Reading the very clever invitation!

Look at that smile on Marc's face.
A big thumbs up from Kurt.

The weekend will include the Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Arizona Sun Devils vs. Oregon Ducks.

On Sunday, on the big screen from the 1 Lexington lounge will be showing the Arizona Cardinals vs Oakland Raiders.

Ashley, if you are seeing this, Dad is hoping you and the kids can drive over to see him. They have the lounge from noon to 6:00. Its on Sunday September 26th. Of course, Dad will be in touch with you!

EEEEEK.......She is 16 years old

Boy are we feeling OLD. Our first grandchild has turned 16. In spite of her being in trouble every other day, she is a beautiful, incredibly smart, innovative, and creative young lady.

One day we will all laugh about these awful teen-age years.

Cake was delicious. Of course, it was my favorite------Chocolate.

What a great family. Their cousins were there visiting from Vegas.

Sorry Stacie, that stupid balloon was right in front of your face.

4th of July

This is the Yaquina Bay. We are sitting in the back of the Coast Guard Station. Not quite dark enough.

It was a long wait, and oh so cold, but definitely worth it. They had over 30 minutes of fireworks, with a wonderful grand finale.

Lincoln City Farmers Market..............

This is Marc's booth at the market in Lincoln City He runs this one by himself.

These are a close up of his vegetable markers that the Master Gardeners bought to put in their booth. Couldn't have asked for better advertising!

These guys are a wealth of information. They are at all of Lincoln County farmers markets, telling us rookies how to do it right!

Slug Alert

This is one brave lady. With stick in hand, she was after one gross slug. Can you see it???? Its on the fence post

Then she calmly scooped it up with a stick and tossed it into the gully. My hero!

Look whose driving..........................

The guys finally got the old golf cart running, and we let Levi take a turn behind the wheel.

I let Jared drive at the same age when we lived in Las Vegas.

He certainly is having a wonderful time. Better than video games!

However, I didn't get a picture of Levi and Mackenzie running back up the road when the cart's brand new battery post burned...........

Although Abby isn't in this picture, this is the best exercise for her. She hates getting into the cart, but she LOVES running along side!

Homemade Rolls...........

This was my very first attempt at making rolls from scratch. Unfortunately, they were undercooked. So we had to scrape off the tops! These were delicious.

Didn't they look wonderful? I was sure they were cooked thru, wouldn't you? Nice and toasty brown.

It is a lot of fun to roll the dough in your hands to make these.

My friend Darla taught me how to do these. They had to rise overnight, but they finally did the job.

Another Project...............

Kurt is building a log Arbor. These logs are from trees that have felled on our property. He is either going to build a swing to hang there, or a hammock. It has a nice view of the lighthouse!
